描述
English: The mean free path of electrons follows a "universal curve" that is almost independent of material. Lower energy electrons have a longer mean free path due to fewer inelastic scattering mechanisms available. Furthermore, electrons with higher energies will travel further within the sample to reach the same final energy as lower energy electrons.

The mean free path curve is based on data references,[1][2].
