矛蚁亚科（学名：Dorylinae），常被译作行军蚁亚科[1]，但事實上該科並非所有的物種都具有行軍蟻行為，是蚁科的一个亚科，分布于旧世界和新世界。2014年，Brady等将以前矛蚁形态（Dorylomorph）的亚科（Aenictinae、Aenictogitoninae、Cerapachyinae、Ecitoninae、Leptanilloidinae 及 Dorylinae）合併于矛蚁亚科下[2]。矛蟻亞科下有29個屬，包含1個已滅絕的屬[3]。
語源學
[编辑]矛蚁亚科的拉丁语学名“Dorylinae”和矛蚁属的拉丁语学名“Dorylus”来源于希腊语“δόρυ”（Dory），意为“矛”。[4]
