钙循环是指钙在溶解相和固体相之间的转移。岩石、生物和土壤會不断地向水体中释放钙离子。 [1] [2]钙离子在水环境中被消耗,因为它们会与水体反应生成不溶性產物,例如碳酸鈣和硅酸钙。 [1][3]这些不溶性產物會沉积形成沉积物或生物体的外骨骼。 [4]钙循环是陆地、海洋、地质和生物之间的共同纽带。 [5]钙在地球上循环的过程中穿梭于这些不同的介质中。海洋酸化导致地球大氣中的二氧化碳浓度变化,进而影响海洋钙循环。 [4]
