This template is designed for most common racing series, eg. British Formula Three Championship. For articles about the racing formulae that are used by such championships, {{Motorsport formula}} may be more appropriate.

1. eg. Single seaters.
2. Use inaugural2 instead when no category exists for the championship's first year, or additional text is needed, such as a footnote.
3. eg. LMP1, LMP2, GTE
4. The total number of drivers/riders from the current or most recent entry list.
5. List the current chassis, engine and tyre suppliers with line breaks. If the list is very long, just enter a number.
6. Normally only applicable to championships with separate titles for teams and manufacturers/constructors, such as the BTCC.
