About me
I am a Doctor of the eye from Nigeria, I have always loved writing right from teen and this is why I honoured the invitation sent by one of my siblings to attend an edit-a-thon organised by the University of Ilorin Wiki Fan Club 4 years ago. As the only medical student, I was not satisfied with editing projects centered around cultural heritage and Nigerian cuisines alone. This is how I started nursing the idea of creating a community of health editors till I founded Wiki Health Africa, early last year. I am fluent in English and Yoruba Lanagugage. I love learning new languages and I'm on 325 language streak on duolingo for German 🇩🇪 and French language 🇫🇷
My work
For the first time, I have founded a community for health editors in Africa known as Wiki Health Africa with over 100 members across Africa who are health professionals. Furthermore, due to my efforts as an advisory council of the wiki women gender gap, we now have 10 members of the wikiwomen task force across Sub-Saharan , South Asia (SA), East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific (ESEAP), Latin America and The Caribbean (LAC), United States and Canada, Northern and Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA). These task forces represent the voices of women and fight for gender bias in the movement I'm a community manager with experience in volunteer recruitment, management, and retention. I am currently the Board Member, of Wiki Project Medicine. Additionally, I was the community Liaison for Africa for the Wiki Love Ramadan 2025 where I was in charge of 1000 participants from Africa, these participants were among the global editors that created over 50000 articles across wikidata, Wikivoyage and wikicommon.
Beyond my administrative roles, I am a new page reviewer and an article for creation reviewer where new articles are marked for visibility and draft are accepted. Due to the work I do at Wikimedia Nigeria User Group, Last month, I was nominated as the Touch bearer for the Wikimedia Nigeria User Group where I have been helping new users grow in the community
