The Projector曾是一家位于新加坡的独立电影院。这家成立于2014年的电影院主要放映艺术电影，同时也播放主流电影，并且是举办现场活动（如单口喜剧表演）的场地。The Projector曾经在黄金大厦及乌节影城（英语：Cineleisure Orchard）营运，亦曾于河滨坊和国泰大厦设点。它已于2025年8月19日结业。

历史

The Projector 于2014年由Karen Tan、Sharon Tan以及Blaise Trigg-Smith透过旗下公司Pocket Projects创立[1][2][3][4][5]。当时由Sharon Tan担任总经理[6]。

这个场地最早可追溯至1973年，当时以“黄金戏院”开幕，是当时新加坡及马来西亚规模最大的电影院，仅一个影厅便能容纳1,500人[5][7]。1990年代，戏院被改装为三个影厅[8]。到了2014年，黄金戏院保留了最大的1,000座影厅，而The Projector则接管了其余较小的影厅[8]。

2019年，Sharon Tan离任，由Prashant Somosundram接任总经理[6]。

在新冠疫情期间，因应新加坡的新防疫措施与艰难的营运环境，The Projector自2021年5月31日至6月13日暂停所有场地的营运[9]。

2020年7月，The Projector推出了线上随选串流平台Projector Plus[2][4]。

2022年，随着mm2娱乐（英语：mm2 Entertainment）停止经营国泰大厦的国泰戏院，The Projector自8月23日起进驻该场地，开设快闪电影院Projector X: Picturehouse[6][10]。该场馆共有四个影厅，其中包括原有的590座国泰大厅[6]。快闪影院持续营运至2023年6月底[11]。

2023年，The Projector宣布与Golden Village合作，在乌节影城开设联营电影院Golden Village X The Projector，接手国泰戏院6月底撤出后的场地[11]。新影院于同年12月正式开幕[12][13]。

2025年5月3日新加坡大选投票日，The Projector举办了现场直播放映活动[14]。

同年8月19日，The Projector宣布结束营运，并进入自愿清盘程序[15]。

黄金大厦

The Projector在黄金大厦的据点于2014年4月开幕。当时以众筹平台Indiegogo发起募资，成功筹得55,000美元。馆内共有三个影厅：Green Room可容纳230人、Redrum可容纳200人、Blue Room可容纳100人，该场地原本是一座教堂，后来才改建为电影院。

河滨坊

The Projector在河滨坊的据点名为Projector X，于2021年4月30日开幕。场内仅有一个48座的影厅。该场地前身是一间华人夜总会，更衣室空间后来由马克・奈尔（Marc Nair）改造成艺术装置。在1990年代，这里也曾被用作Studio City Cinemas。此据点属于快闪电影院，并于2022年底结束营运[1][2]。

国泰大厦

2022年8月23日，The Projector接管了国泰大厦原属于国泰影院的四个影厅，其中包括可容纳590人的Cathay Grand，并以快闪电影院Projector X: Picturehouse的名义营运[6][10]。该据点于2023年6月底结束营运。

乌节影城

在乌节影城的国泰影院结束营运后，The Projector自2023年7月至12月于商场内经营了一间快闪咖啡馆、一间酒吧，以及现场活动空间。同时，The Projector与Golden Village合作，在该处开设联营电影院Golden Village x The Projector（GVxTP），接手原本的影院场地。该合作影院共设有六个影厅，其中三个由Golden Village经营，另外三个则由The Projector经营[16]。新影院于2023年12月正式开幕[13]。
