林明弘（1964年11月6日—)，英文名Michael Lin）是出生于日本东京[1][2]的台湾裔美国艺术家。出生后移居台湾，9岁时全家移民美国，目前在比利时布鲁塞尔和台湾台北生活、工作[3]。林明弘被认为是台湾当代画家和观念艺术家领导者[4]。
生涯
[编辑]1964年，林明弘出生于东京，并在台湾长大[5]。他是雾峰林家的后裔，林献堂的曾孙。[6]林明弘全家于1973年移民到美国洛杉矶[7][8]，接受了南加州的多元文化，并对艺术和滑板产生了兴趣[9][10][11]。
1990年毕业于洛杉矶奥蒂斯设计艺术学院，1993年获得帕萨迪纳艺术中心设计学院艺术硕士学位[12][13]。艺术家丹尼尔·布伦（Daniel Buren）、丹·格雷厄姆（Dan Graham）和弗朗茨·韦斯特（Franz West），散文家伊莱恩·斯卡里及其关于身体文化的作品，台湾新浪潮电影导演，如侯孝贤、蔡明亮和杨德昌等人都对林明弘产生影响[7][14]。
林明弘曾在台北、巴黎、布鲁塞尔和上海担任艺术家。2022年获中华民国驻纽约台北经济文化办事处邀请在办事处大厅墙面设置17公尺、高8公尺的《岛屿生活》（Island Life）。[15]
