斯蒂芬·斯托加茨（英語：Steven Strogatz，1959年8月13日—），美國數學家，康奈爾大學應用數學系雅各布·古爾德·舒爾曼教授。[3][4]他主要從事非線性系統的研究。

生平

斯托加茨出生於美國康涅狄格州托靈頓。他於1980年畢業於普林斯頓大學並獲數學學士學位。1980年至1982年間，他獲得以馬歇爾學者的身份赴英國劍橋大學學習。1986年，獲哈佛大學應用數學博士學位。[5]在哈佛大學與波士頓大學從事數年博士後研究後，他於1989年起任教於麻省理工學院應用數學系。1994年起，前往康奈爾大學任教。

他是工業與應用數學學會會士（2009年）[6]、美國文理科學院院士（2012年）[7]、美國物理學會會士（2014年）[8]、美國數學學會會士（2016年）[9]。

此外，斯托加茨教授長期參與科普，曾出版過《同步》（Sync）等科普書籍，並且是《紐約時報》的專欄作者。[10]

研究
