霍伊特的Twitch账号曾于2017年8月因对卡特里娜飓风灾民的不当言论被短暂停权。[30][31][32]

有评论形容霍伊特属于“科技偏差者”（technodeviant）族群，指涉一群多为非自愿单身、白人异性恋男性的网络用户，被认为排挤弱势群体。他的非游戏内容被形容为“表面上非政治化，除非涉及特定右翼议题”。学者指出，他的言论多为迎合观众的品牌表演，未必反映真实立场。2019年，他曾发表厌女言论涉及前女友。2020年乔治·佛洛伊德之死后，他也对Twitch表情符号中潜藏的种族偏见提出评论。[33]

2022年，他曾联系共和党参议员泰德·克鲁兹，讨论游戏抽卡的监管议题，但未有具体结果。[34][35]

个人生活

霍伊特曾取得商学学位，原计划申请法学院，但因照顾母亲而作罢。[49]2021年10月，他的母亲因慢性阻塞性肺病过世，他因此暂停直播。[50][51]2025年7月，他的父亲被诊断出胰脏癌，于9月中旬病逝，消息在9月18日对外公布。[52]
