政治與社會觀點

霍伊特的Twitch帳號曾於2017年8月因對卡特里娜颶風災民的不當言論被短暫停權。[30][31][32]

有評論形容霍伊特屬於「科技偏差者」（technodeviant）族群，指涉一群多為非自願單身、白人異性戀男性的網路用戶，被認為排擠弱勢群體。他的非遊戲內容被形容為「表面上非政治化，除非涉及特定右翼議題」。學者指出，他的言論多為迎合觀眾的品牌表演，未必反映真實立場。2019年，他曾發表厭女言論涉及前女友。2020年喬治·佛洛伊德之死後，他也對Twitch表情符號中潛藏的種族偏見提出評論。[33]

2022年，他曾聯繫共和黨參議員泰德·克魯茲，討論遊戲抽卡的監管議題，但未有具體結果。[34][35]

2024年10月，他在引發爭議後正式辭去OTK與Starforge的領導職務，表示自己在OTK的身分限制了他的創作自由，也讓公司在尋找贊助商時遭遇困難，並使其他成員成為外界騷擾的目標。[39]霍伊特在直播主Samy Rivers（英語：Samy Rivers）獲得2024年「年度電競實況主獎」後，批評評選結果，認為這是因她是女性而作出的「多元文化考量」選擇，並主張其他男性入圍者更應得獎。[41][42][43]2025年1月，伊隆·馬斯克被指控付錢請他人代練《流亡黯道2（英語：Path of Exile 2）》帳號。霍伊特隨後公開挑戰馬斯克，要求他證明自己親自將角色在硬核模式練到97級。之後，馬斯克在X（前Twitter）上取消關注霍伊特、撤除其藍勾認證，並公開兩人的私人訊息截圖。該貼文下的社群註解指出，未經同意公開私人訊息通常違反X的使用規範。[44][45]馬斯克後來刪除了相關貼文，之後兩人仍在X上針對其他話題互動。[46][47]

霍伊特曾取得商學學位，原計畫申請法學院，但因照顧母親而作罷。[49]2021年10月，他的母親因慢性阻塞性肺病過世，他因此暫停直播。[50][51]2025年7月，他的父親被診斷出胰臟癌，於9月中旬病逝，消息在9月18日對外公布。[52]
