這是基因資訊框（Infobox gene）模板。資訊框中的資料來源於維基數據。該模板的Lua語言的實現位於模塊:Infobox gene。
在基因文章頁面的使用
[編輯]在基因文章頁面頂部添加{{infobox gene}}。該資訊框通過其所在頁面的維基數據項填充。要查看連結到頁面的維基數據項，請點擊文章左側「工具」菜單中的「維基數據項」連結。
在蛋白質文章頁面的使用
[編輯]在蛋白質頁面頂部添加{{infobox gene}}。資訊框的填充方式是：使用蛋白質的維基數據項查找編碼的基因項，然後使用該基因項填充資訊框。
在其它頁面的使用
[編輯]即使沒有基因或蛋白質的跨維基連結，任何頁面都可以顯示資訊框。必須將維基數據項明確添加為參數，並調用底層模塊。例如，附加代碼
{{#invoke:Infobox_gene|getTemplateData|QID=Q414043}}在任何頁面頂部都會為基因絡絲蛋白基因（RELN）創建一個資訊框。QID是用於填充資訊框的維基數據基因項。請將您感興趣的維基數據項ID (QID) 替換為QID參數。
錯誤資訊
[編輯]「檢索資訊框的維基數據項時發生錯誤」（「An Error has occurred retrieving Wikidata item for infobox」）表示非基因/蛋白質維基數據項或不完整的維基數據項。
分類

資料結構

Data structure of gene and protein data in Wikidata is a bit complex. Even if there is only one gene/protein article in Wikipedia, there are many data pages in Wikidata.
Basically Wikidata has distinct pages for gene and protein each, for respective species (See the table below). And pages are interconnected based on following rules.
- Wikipedia articles are connected to Wikidata's gene data page (#情況一) or protein data page (#情況二) through d:Help:Sitelinks. In most cases, articles are connected to gene data page.
- Gene and protein pages are interconnected through "encodes (d:P:P688)" and "encoded by (d:P:P702)" property claims (horizontal arrows "→", "←" in the table).
- Gene pages from different species are interconnected through "ortholog (d:P:P684)" property claims (vertical arrows "↑", "↓" in the table).
The data which infobox_gene shows to readers are collected from somewhere of this interconnected Wikidata pages.
